Twas the night....twas many nights....

Sorry for the lousy photo but there just isn't any place decent to take a photo in my apartment - my phone camera doesn't work so well indoors - needless to say, I am hoping to get an Ott light for Christmas....

Anywho, this was the effort of many a night, it's done later than I had planned but still.... the main stitching of the 37 ornaments for my Christmas tree is complete :) I've got a huge bag from a few shopping trips to Joann's full of felt, ribbon, buttons, specialty scissors, glue and beads that these will be hopefully finished with....I am planning on adding a simple border to some as they are on the small side but we'll see how it goes. I want everything done and on the tree by Nov. 12th! Wish me luck!

Can't believe I am saying this....

I am a firm believer in summer - I was born in the dog days of summer (August)....I absolutely love summer....hate hearing about/seeing kids having shorter summer vacations, the whole enchilada!

But....tis the season....get your Santa hat and jingle bells on....

I joined a Christmas ornament exchange on 123stitch
:-) Our ornaments have to be completed and received by Nov. 1st to be eligible for a $25- gift certificate. That is not why I am participating. But when given a deadline, I have a tendency to be early.

I just finished stitching my ornament a few minutes ago :-) Not sure how I will finish it but am pretty happy with the results, especially since it was stitched 1 over 1 on 28 ct! I keep thinking I will never stitch that small again but off I go! Don't have much other stitching to show right now but my schedule has been rather hectic lately. But I am trying to carve out more time for stitching.

Anyway, not to write a book here, here is my ornament:

I Have 2 Finishes!!!! (Well, 1 & 3/4ths) :)

After injuring my arm last year, I wasn't sure I'd ever finish this project or even want to but I put in my last stitches about an hour ago and it feels WONDERFUL - sorry about the photo quality and the wrinkles but without further ado, here is Apple Pickin' by Lynn's Prints (it's more colorful in person):

And then here is my first flatfold. Not the best but not the worst. It doesn't have it's bow on it yet but I am happy overall with it:

I'll post a picture when I have the bow on it if my idea works - we'll see....Thank you for looking :)

Happy 4th, Stitching / RAK'd / Floss Tube Update....

First off, for those in the USA, Happy 4th - please stay safe and keep your pets indoors too!
I had a stitching marathon today - first time in probably a year! I actually stitched for almost 5 hrs total :)

Recently, I have been working on 2 separate projects, Apple Pickin' by Lynn's Prints and also It's My Mess by Joan Elliott. I didn't take any pictures of my actual progress today as I was too tired but here are the models - all I have to do now on Apple Pickin' is the tree branch and I have the PJ top and face done on It's My Mess (both are for my mom).

I did purchase a kit by Design Works called America a few months ago at my local Joann's - it had been there for many months and I finally decided to grab it - the center of it reminds me of Charles Wysocki's style of art work. I spent at least 1.5 hrs getting it ready to start stitching tomorrow - it will be my 4th of July new start - this might become a tradition, I don't know yet.

And speaking of Wysocki, a lady finished Cozy Cove on 123stitch and showed her work the other day, GORGEOUS! I've seen a few people do Macnintosh Mill by him (all Dimensions kits I think) but Machintosh Mill I know for certain is OOP - and it's a tad expensive for my budget right now to purchase at Ebay or Etsy.

So I decided to peek on Ebay just to see what all was out there by Wysocki - and I found a Dimension's kit called Peaceful Countryside - and it just really called to me - reminds me so much of favorite areas we used to drive through in No. California - and also of the farmland area north of where we live in WA state.

Long story short - the kit, while very reasonable, was still too much for my pocketbook right now - so I asked at 123stitch if anyone knew if there had been a separate chart made of it that one could legally purchase. The next thing I know, a lady who I only know from seeing her post every so often at 123stitch, offered to RAK me the kit from Ebay - I was absolutely stunned and broke down crying and asked her to really think it through for a few days but she insisted she wanted to do it so I let her - and now it is on it's way to me :) I am just so ecstatic :)

I still plan on getting Macintosh Mill someday (maybe - that Cozy Cove is also lovely) but this one will definitely be such a joy and an honor to do and have!!

Oh forgot to add, I was also RAK'd a couple of gorgeous patterns, one was this one:
Late Summer Village - model - Cross Stitch & Needlework
And the other was this one:
Cross Stitch Collection - Ascot Ladies' Day - model

And so with all that rambling on here, I finally decided to join Floss Tube on Youtube - my first video totally sucked as it was only pictures showing my different work (not all of it either - I was too chicken to appear) - but then I decided to do another video showing me (total dork!) and so far, so good!

So if you are really bored, you can do a search for Three Bluebirds floss tube - and you'll find me! Floss tube was a real soothing healer for me when I messed up my arm last year and really couldn't stitch - so I am a big fan of it :)

And with that, yes, I still plan on blogging as well - not sure how often I'll be on Floss Tube but I do plan on every so often, most likely very short videos (compared to what I did).

Thank you for reading :)

Some stitching & a flower video....

At long last, I finally got around to taking a couple of (lousy) pictures of my latest projects -

the first up is Temptations by Joan Elliott by Design Works - my mom found it Joann's about 3 months ago and so I completed this one for my mom and she liked it so much, she had me go back 2 days later and buy the other identical kit to do for her cousin - thank goodness for 50% coupons - only $2- each! Not too crazy about the materials but they did their due - had to ask for more black floss as the kit was super short on it (yet the kit had a ton of green in it!):

Next one is It's My Mess, another Joan Elliott/Design Works piece - my mom loved this one so we bought this one at the same time we bought the 1st Tempting kit - I haven't done this one yet and this is the only picture I could find online of it:

This is from the July 2010 CrossStitch & Needlework magazine - I am just doing the Tea In The Garden part as a gift for a friend of mine - sort of a combo thank you and housewarming gift:

I've worked a couple hours on Tradewinds but not enough to show any difference to anyone and I haven't touched either the Apple piece or the Honey piece in months - my rheumatoid arthritis has been a bear and I'm on my 3rd kind of medication for it now (self-injection shots once a week). I am really hoping this will over time ease the symptoms enough so I can start stitching more.

And last but not least, the first of 2 flower videos of photos I took over in Edmonds (this was from May 2nd) of the roses and flowers on that one street where it is just full of blooms:

Thank you for stopping by :)

Stash Sale....

Hi, long time, no hear. Not sure if I am just chatting with myself here or what....wouldn't be surprised if that was the case but what the heck.

As the title says, I am having a stash sale. I've already posted this at 123stitch, so it's the same stuff.

My rheumatoid arthritis is playing havoc with my joints and I am having difficulty in finding a compatible medication that will work, so in the meantime, my stitching has really slowed down to almost non-existent.

Anyways, if you're interested, the link will be below. It's mostly magazines, a few patterns and books, just about all used, either given to me or what I've purchased.

I am only accepting Paypal or money orders right now and I only charge exact postage. The price of each item is listed in the title, shipping extra, and I am more than willing to combine shipping.

Thank you for looking....and reading....hope to have a few pics to post this weekend.
