A quick note....

Due to my home computer deciding it's time for it to retire, I'll only be online when I make it by the library....for now - not sure how long that will last. Oh well, always have enjoyed snail mail and I'll get more stitching time in too - least that's the idea. I'll post updates to projects as I can but it will be slowly. Till later....

To Spring....

To Spring....

O thou with dewy locks, who lookest down
Through the clear windows of the morning, turn
Thine angel eyes upon our western isle,
Which in full choir hails thy approach, O Spring!

The hills tell one another, and the listening
Valleys hear; all our longing eyes are turn’d
Up to thy bright pavilions: issue forth
And let thy holy feet visit our clime!

Come o’er the eastern hills, and let our winds
Kiss thy perfumèd garments; let us taste
Thy morn and evening breath; scatter thy pearls
Upon our lovesick land that mourns for thee.

O deck her forth with thy fair fingers; pour
Thy soft kisses on her bosom; and put
Thy golden crown upon her languish’d head,
Whose modest tresses are bound up for thee.

Wishing you a rainbow....

Wishing you a rainbow
For sunlight after showers—
Miles and miles of Irish smiles
For golden happy hours—
Shamrocks at your doorway
For luck and laughter too,
And a host of friends that never ends
Each day your whole life through!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!!

Martha

That is one awful picture.
And that was the best out of 10.
Including being scanned in.

Sigh.

It's done on 22ct on a beautiful soft
peachy-ecru tea-dyed (my first time) fabric -
random colors chosen.

In person, it looks so delicate. Not near so harsh.

Oh well, original free pattern is here:

Looks a tad lacey....or is that lacy?

It needs washing & blocking but, not bad for not crocheting in a couple of years:

That's probably oh about 40" worth - done in 10 ct. One down, and one to go.
Mom gets to sew them on to her pillowcases :)

Bleeding Hearts Crochet Edging - Take 1

Decided to try a crocheted edging test of a pattern that a lovely lady on 123Stitch re-wrote for me from the original (here). Mine does not have the top loops yet as you do that once you reach the length desired. I'm trying it with 10 ct crochet thread - definitely would be better in 20 ct. Love the craptastic photos my camera graces me with these days. Ha! My mom wants this edging for some pillowcases I made her - yes, for the fabric underneath the edging - teddy bears and hearts. My mom's a wild-thing! :D HA! :)

So, where is it?

I can just hear Mr. Ortolan asking me that in a scolding tone of voice. Or would that be chirp?
No, no new photos of my "orts" - as there aren't any - well, none worth showing. Local shop is out of B5200 (bright white) and I need more of it. I did finish Frosty Forest 2 - Snowy Deer - but need to take a photo. Super rainy out and makes for making my funky photographic skills even funkier.
Am going to be starting a crochet trim project for some pillowcases I made my mom. If I can get my braincell's fog to clear up. Been down with a bad bug the past week - slow to get over - not feeling up to doing much. Oh well. Happy Monday.
