Some August Flowers....

Close up of rose hips - they remind me so much of crab apples!
Edit - Not sure what is going on with Blogger today as this blog post looks nothing like I had planned! The next paragraph was supposed to be first and the pictures are in reverse order and one is on top. Oh well, have fun reading. Too lazy to try to fix it!

Went out to Edmonds yesterday - hadn't been there in a while - sure miss being by the water. But oh boy was downtown crowded! Good for the economy but really wish people wouldn't walk out in front of you in the middle of the street - that is what crosswalks are for! Took some pictures of some flowers - actually took a lot but will only share a few for now.
Just so show rose hips in size comparison - that sign is a good 20" across - also love the wild rose growing in amongst everything.
Right by where we were able to park - view of the water and rose hips. Yes, rose hips. They were huge!
Forget what these are called - the garden at this house is a true cottage garden - doesn't show from this angle but they have everything!
Gladiolas coming into bloom.

The rose hips are so far along already. Ours are only just starting to form a little. I planted 3 beach roses for them. One is doing well this year but the new ones need time.

Loved seeing the flowers in your area. What does BNSF stand for?

Hugs from Holland ~

P.S. - Thank you for the supportive comments on my blog post about the fence. The neighbors have nothing to say about what we do in our garden but they do tell us what they think. Jos thinks they are unhappy that they no longer have the entire fences view into our garden. You see they do not garden much themselves so he thinks they are taking advantage of seeing a neighbor's garden that is fully worked in. Who knows but I am so happy since I got my privacy back. I stand happily now in my studio ironing and gazing out into my garden.
